Communities In Schools of Atlanta (CIS) is an organization which is committed to connecting needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. CIS of Atlanta surrounds young people with their own community of tutors, mentors, health care providers, career counselors and other resources, with the ultimate goal to increase the number and percentage of children staying in school through high school graduation. CIS of Atlanta works in over 20 schools in the Metro Atlanta area, 13 of them in the Atlanta Public School System. We are currently in need of tutors, mentors, and Lunch Buddies to work with the students in the schools in which we serve. Volunteer hours and days are flexible.

 Volunteer opportunity-- Database development

ROOTS adoption agency is seeking assistance with the development of two Access databases. One database will record and track employee activity to include time accounting by project. The other database will record and track information and activity of families and children throughout the adoption process from inquiry through case closure.

ROOTS is an adoption agency that recruits families for children, typically between the ages of 3-14, who are in Georgia's foster care system. ROOTS is located in College Park, GA.

A small stipend is available.
