Atlanta is the capital of Georgia and the major city of the southeastern region. In addition to being the southeastern
center for business, banking, government, and transportation and communication, Atlanta is an important factor in the
educational and cultural life of the South. In addition to Emory, there are more than 25 other institutions of higher
